Apple’s new iPad in short supply due to high demand

Apple’s third generation iPad is already available in the market and has been proclaimed that iPad3 demand was chaotic. The release last Friday was a big hit as many customers lined up at the Apple stores and some even went there before the break of dawn. The mobile tablet was quickly sold out across the Dayton Region which caused the iPad3’s short supply. Prior to its exact release, it was already sold out which made some stores out of stock on the day of the release. For those individuals who preordered the tablet, the Cupertino Calif.-based company delayed the delivery to March 19 due to short stocks.

Apple fans waiting for the New Ipad

According to Brad Ditzell, manager of MacTown, an authorized Apple retailer, they won’t be able to get sizeable shipments until March 19 in Dayton. “We know we’ll be getting shipments”, Ditzell said.
Employees of the two MacTown stores had been taking orders through phones, emails and walk-ins, a week prior to the release. And on the big day, still many customers were waiting outside for the opening of the stores. Even though Ditzell didn’t reveal the exact numbers of the sold iPads, he said that it has been “chaotic”.
“This launch is drastically more significant than the iPad2 launch,” he said.
He also said that once the shipments arrived, they will fill orders and units will be placed on the retail floor sale only once orders are filled.
Meanwhile, according to the Apple website, new orders placed via Apple won’t be shipped for another two or three weeks.
